It is one thing to have a good idea with meaningful intentions. It is another for the community to show support and solidarity towards achieving those intentions. In January 2024, we initiated a fundraising campaign to raise €5000 for scholarships for children in Nigeria. While this amount may not seem sufficient for the intended cause, my guiding philosophy is that 'Lack of resources should not be an excuse for lack of resourcefulness.' Today, I am filled with gratitude to inform the global community that we successfully raised €1525. Our next step is to compile a list of potential recipients, conduct a selection test to identify a worthy candidate, followed by the selection and direct payment to the schools. In the words of C. S. Lewis in Mere Christianity, 'the smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of.' We will share the report of the selection and disbursement once completed. We kindly implore the populace not to reach out to us for personal needs, as many have already attempted. The intent of the scholarship campaign is to support bright kids whose parents, due to circumstances, cannot pay their tuition fees. Thank you all for your support and understanding.
